Getting Back to Basics: Building Stronger Programs, Volunteers & Stations
The Leadership Academy provides an opportunity for program leaders to strengthen the foundational skills needed to successfully manage volunteers, support stations, maintain strong documentation, and build sustainable community partnerships. The 2026/27 Academy can build on previous Leadership Academy content while bringing the focus back to the basics—the tools, processes, communication, and practices that help programs operate consistently and effectively.
This is your space to connect, learn, and lead together. It’s about building community, having your voices heard, and making real progress — because when we come together, we get things done!

Who Should Attend?
AmeriCorps Seniors Stipend Program Directors ready to grow, lead, and ignite lasting impact in their communities.
AmeriCorps Leadership Staff has defined the ASPN Leadership Academy as an approved grant training expense. With no 2026 convening, the Americorps Seniors agency encourages you to use the funds to invest in other training opportunities that will benefit your role and professional growth.
Dates and Topics
All virtual sessions held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from
2:00-4:00 Eastern, 1:00-3:00 Central, Noon-2:00 Mountain, 11:00-1:00 Pacific, 10:00 -Noon Alaska, 9:00-11:00 Hawaii
Live attendance is required during each session to facilitate networking. The exception is December, which will be orientation and provided via recording. Class members must attend all sessions to graduate. The ASPN reserves the right to extend an excused absence for good reason. Class member will be able to attend the make-up session during the next academy.
